Dušan Živković, General Director of Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), highlighted the positive impact of a newly signed collective agreement, which he said ensures medium-term stability for both electricity production and employee status. Speaking at the Miner’s Day celebration in Kostolac, Živković emphasized the crucial role of the mining sector in EPS’s electricity production, citing the Kolubara Mining Basin and Drmno mine in Kostolac as examples of overcoming challenges and achieving results through collective effort.

Živković expressed gratitude to the mining sector employees for their dedication and hard work under all weather conditions, from extreme heat to snow and rain. He acknowledged the current challenges in the energy sector but emphasized the opportunity for EPS to improve and modernize through diligence, knowledge, and determination.

The event also included a wreath-laying ceremony at the miner’s memorial in Stari Kostolac, honoring past generations who contributed to the lignite mining industry, both underground and at current surface mines.
