Serbia gives 25 million dinars to equip startup centers

The Cabinet of the Minister for Innovation and Technological Development in Serbia will procure an integrated communication system for the needs of regional innovation startup centers for 25 million dinars.

The contract signed on December 16 implies the purchase of equipment and its installation, ie networking of the entire system. The job was obtained by the company LOGO from Belgrade.

Regional startup centers in Serbia opened in summer 2019 in eight cities: Cacak, Zrenjanin, Pirot, Subotica, Gornji Milanovac, Valjevo, Krusevac and Stara Pazova.

Also, the tender documentation lists the location for networking of startup innovation centers with a unit in the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of innovation and technological development in Belgrade.

Each of the centers outside Belgrade should be equipped with switches, wireless access points and smart video conference boards, according to the tender documentation.

According to data presented by Minister without portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development, Nenad Popovic, exports of Serbia’s IT sector were worth 1.15 billion euros in 2018.
