Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic stated in Jagodina on Tuesday that Serbia is stable in political and economic terms and has a good policy for attracting investors, but this additionally increases the responsibility of the government and parties since they are in charge of creating good living conditions for the citizens.

At the opening of the plant of the Italian company Andrea Confeccioni which should employ 500 citizens of Jagodina, Dacic said that Serbia should be the leader in the region.

We lost 20 years until now and if we lose another 20, then we will not need enemies because we will destroy ourselves, the Serbian prime minister stated.

Dacic recalled that a lot of work was done over the past seven months since the constitution of the government and noted that Serbia maintains good relations with the EU and major markets in Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The interest in Serbia is considerable and our responsibility is all the greater since we need to create conditions for citizens to live well, while at the same time preserving Serbia’s national interests, Dacic said.

It is important for Serbia to attract foreign investors from various parts of the world as was done by restoring friendly ties with the United Arab Emirates, he noted.

He said that he is especially satisfied with the fact that the company’s investment in Jagodina is another one coming from Italy as Serbia’s biggest friend in the west with which Serbia shared many ties that go back in history.
