Serbia open for Turkish investors

At the end of his visit to Sarajevo, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic held meetings with President of the Islamic Development Bank Ahmed Mohammed Ali, Chairperson of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Trade and Industry Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel and Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Ali Babacan.

Vucic and his interlocutors discussed regional development projects, investments in Serbia, tourism development and the organisation of an economic forum in Belgrade after the model of the “Sarajevo Business Forum”.

Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel, whom the Prime Minister invited to visit Serbia, underlined the importance of investing in feasibility studies in order to locate the most promising projects in the region.

During the talks with Babacan, Vucic pointed to the importance of good relations between Serbia and Turkey, and to the importance of improvement of economic cooperation of the two countries.

We want to see more Turkish investors in Serbia, the Prime Minister stated.

Babacan underlined that the arrival of the Turkish Halk Bank to Serbia which bought Cacanska Bank is a good signal to Turkish investors that Serbia is a secure investment destination.

A joint meeting of business communities of Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Turkey will be held next month in Ankara.
