The agreement was for 50,000 tons of frozen raspberries at a cost of 1.60 Euro per kilogram.

Dragisa Terzic, the president of the growers union, which represents 18 associations of raspberry producers, said that growers would receive 1.21 Euro per kg for the sales, which represents an excellent price.

President of CWS best Food, Michael Wally said that the quality of the raspberries was excellent and confirmed the company’s intentions to import more fresh produce from Serbia.

“We intend to expand cooperation and import from Serbia other fruits and vegetables such as apples, plums and potatoes,” he said.

Raspberries from Serbia will be placed this year on the market of the EU and Ukraine, Wally said.
