“The Office for Public Investment Management manages dozens of projects in various sectors, and 200 million euros have been allocated for investments this year,” said the director of this office, Marko Blagojevic.
He mentions the most important projects in the field of health, and among them he singles out the construction of the University Children’s Clinic Tirsova Dva and the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases Dedinje Dva.
Blagojevic points out that the project for the construction of UDK Tirsova is the two most valuable, because about 100 million euros were set aside for its financing, which is estimated to be the cost of construction works and the purchase of equipment.
“Preparation of this project is nearing completion and construction should begin during the summer. It is a facility with an area of 60,000 square meters, which will be built according to the highest standards,” he says.
He adds that doctors from the existing clinic in Tirsova were also involved in the preparation of the project, in order to build a facility that will best suit the work of doctors as well as the well-being of their patients.
While the construction of Tirsova has yet to start, the construction of Dedinje Dva, which began in 2019, is coming to an end, and when it is completed, the area of the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases will be increased from the current 9,000 square meters to 23,000.
The most modern equipment necessary for providing health care when it comes to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases will be procured.
The value of the entire project, ie the construction of the building and the purchase of equipment, according to our interlocutor, is around 42 million euros.
Blagojevic points out that these are only the two largest health projects, and that a large number of health institutions throughout Serbia have been or are being worked on.
Thus, he states, the works on the complete reconstruction of the outpatient clinic of the Osecina Health Center in the settlement of Pecka, which cost around 200,000 euros, were recently completed.
Works are underway at many general hospitals, such as the one in Arandjelovac, where the facility is being completely renovated both outside and inside, and the central facility of the Vranje health center is also being completely renovated, where the works are worth around 12 million euros.
“We are working in Prokuplje and Loznica, where we are bringing to an end the works started in the early 90’s on the construction of the gynecological-surgical block. We should not forget Prokuplje, Smederevska Palanka, Pirot, Leskovac, Vrbas, Gornji Milanovac, Kikinda, where works on the renovation of the hospital should be agreed soon,” says Blagojevic and adds that in the mentioned cities these are general hospitals where the works are either completed or in progress or should begin soon.

In addition to the renovation of health institutions, they are also working on the procurement of equipment for those who work in the so-called tertiary sector such as the Institute for Mother and Child, Institute of Oncology and Radiology, GAK Narodni Front, KBC Zemun.
Great attention is also paid to investments in facilities in education.
“We work in both primary and secondary education and higher education. The construction of the new building of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade, which should start working in November, is largely underway,” states the interlocutor of Tanjug.
He points out that works on several dozen more primary schools throughout Serbia should be completed this year.
Speaking about the plans for the next period, Blagojevic points out that the project of building a national concert hall, which should be the new home of the Belgrade Philharmonic, is being prepared in the cultural sector.
“Now the selection of design houses is underway, which should compete with their proposals for conceptual solutions,” he says.
He adds that this is a project whose estimated value is 120 million euros and which Belgrade will put on the European and world map when it comes to culture, RTV reports.
