The Serbia 2025 program has the most money, as much as nine billion euros, earmarked for infrastructure. About 5,000 kilometers will be reconstructed, mostly local roads in the country.

Nine of the total of around 14 billion euros, which is foreseen in the Serbia 2025 program, is intended for investment in infrastructure. Over the next five years, it is planned to complete the construction of four highways that began in 2019 and earlier, as well as three new corridors that are planned.

The completion of the road at “Milos the Great” from Preljina to Pozega is expected, then the road from Ruma to Sabac, the section of the Sremska Raca – Kuzmin highway, as well as the entire route of the Moravian corridor from Pojat to Preljina.

Work should also begin on the highway linking Nis and Merdare, that is, Pristina, and in the coming years on the Sumadija Corridor, which should connect Sumadija and eastern Serbia. It is planned to extend from Orasac, where Karadjordje raised the First Serbian Uprising, across Topola, Raca, Svilajnac and Despotovac ,all the way to Bor. The “Fruska Gora Corridor” from Ruma to Novi Sad is also “drawn”.

Following Vojvodina’s remarks that the province is not on the map of new roads, President Aleksandar Vucic announced the construction of modern roads in the north of the country. He emphasized that the construction of the Sombor – Kula – Vrbas – Bečej – Novo Milosevo – Kikinda express road is envisaged.

Paracin, Zajecar and Negotin will be connected to the east, and the construction of a fast road Pozarevac – Veliko Gradiste – Golubac is planned. In the coming period, Valjevo should also be connected to the highway “Milos the Great” by a modern road, and Kragujevac via the Morcava corridor via Mrcajevci. All these roads, along with the route from Sabac to Loznica, will be about 820 kilometers long.

Over the next five years, about 5,000 kilometers of roads in Serbia will be reconstructed. The list includes 143 sections that will be covered with asphalt, among them about 300 kilometers of highways, more than 2,000 kilometers of thoroughfares, about 2,500 regional roads, and about 200 kilometers of local roads.

As the sections of the new corridors end, the ones built decades ago on the highway from Subotica to Nis are for serious repair. On the stretch from Subotica to Novi Sad, three lanes on the right side will be reconstructed in the length of 52 kilometers, while sections on Corridor 10, Pozarevac – Batocina, Paracin – Cuprija – Jagodina, Pojate – Nis “North” and Nis “South” – Doljevac – Leskovac, will be arranged in full profile. The reconstruction of the section on the motorway to Zagreb, from Kuzmin via Ruma to Belgrade, awaits complete reconstruction.

A special law has already been written, which will enable faster implementation of capital projects. Currently, the lex specialis is in the process of being approved, which, as announced by the competent authorities, should contribute to faster implementation of projects in the field of roads, railways, air, water and communal infrastructure, thus affecting the development of all parts of Serbia. The law concentrates on identifying projects of particular importance to the state, such as public transport and utility infrastructure and public-private partnerships worth more than 50 million euros, writes Novosti.
