Airbus officials are impressed with production capacities in the aerospace sector in Serbia and see a great cooperation potential in manufacturing spare parts and aircraft maintenance, Acting Director of the Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) Nenad Bjelogrlic said Wednesday.

Bjelogrlic told the Belgrade-based TV Pink that Airbus would help local companies obtain the required certificates.

The fact that the Serbian firms do not have all the necessary certificates is the main problem for them when exports are concerned, noted Bjelogrlic.

A company in Belgrade designs parts for Airbus planes, he added.

The aerospace industry has a long tradition in Serbia, and ultra-light and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as flight simulators, are being manufactured in the country, Bjelogrlic pointed out.
