The Italian Development Bank wants to actively participate in projects related to green energy in Serbia, not only when it comes to renewable energy sources, but also the program to increase energy efficiency, said the head of the Bank’s International Affairs Department, Laurent Francozi and pointed out that the bank marked Serbia as one of the main locations, not only because of economic and political ties, but also because of the fact that projects in energy infrastructure and environmental protection are in the focus of the Serbian government.
– Also, I think that there is room to cooperate in the improvement of the transmission and distribution electricity network, as well as in transport – said Francozi after the meeting with the Minister of Mining and Energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlović.
Mihajlovic assessed that the space for cooperation is large, given the need to increase the number of private sector investments, noting that the projects covered by the new investment plan are worth more than 17 billion euros.
Italian Ambassador to Serbia Carlo Lo Cascio, who attended the meeting, said that, given Serbia’s economic growth and favorable investment environment, Italian companies are interested in additional investments, the Serbian government’s website reported, eKapija reports.
