The pompously announced action of cheaper introduction of gas in Serbia has not started yet

Since the beginning of July, when it was announced that the action of cheaper introduction of gas in households will start, 25,000 citizens have registered, but the authorities still do not know when the promise will start to be realized.
They did not solve the main problem, which is the change of the provisions of the Rulebook on a special type of facilities. This is a necessary condition to ensure the planned, lower price of an individual connection of 780 euros, because it would avoid the local taxes of local governments. Depending on the municipality, these fees increase the cost of citizens for the introduction of gas, from 400 to 1,300 euros.
Novosti has repeatedly tried to find out from the authorities when this act will be changed, but we have not received an answer even now. Although it is still unclear when the realization of the entire business will begin, the director of “Srbijagas”, Dusan Bajatovic, announced on Wednesday that, as of Monday, citizens will be able to call certain branches and apply for the connection. And they will be informed about everything through the media.
– “Srbijagas” has formed working units for all parts of the country that will deal with gas connections – Bajatovic pointed out for RTS. – By the end of the year, we plan to connect at least 15,000 households. So far, 25,000 citizens have registered.
He reiterated that the public company provided the funds and that it would enable the gas connection to cost 780 euros everywhere in Serbia, for 36 months without interest in dinars. As he said, he expects that both the contractors of internal installations and the producers of gas equipment will be ready to give the citizens a repayment period of three years, because that agreement is coming to an end.
– By the end of next year, Belgrade and Vojvodina will be one hundred percent gasified – Bajatovic pointed out. – When we finish what is in progress, without new projects, we will be able to connect up to 500,000 consumers. The Pozarevac district is coming to an end, and it is expected that the construction of the gas pipeline towards Valjevo will start this year.
As he stated, the Kolubara district will be a priority, as well as the south of Serbia, primarily because of industrial consumers, as promised by President Aleksandar Vucic in February. Gasification of Leskovac, Gadzin Han and Vranje will also be done.
Dusan Bajatovic said that they are working with the Government to overcome the problem of introducing gas into illegal facilities. One of the solutions is to confirm that they are in the process of legalization.
– We will find a solution with the Government so that they can join as well – said Bajatovic. – I hope that we will ensure that everyone who submitted a request for legalization can get gas. There should be no obstacle to that, if they already have water, electricity and sewage, Novosti reports.
