The Minister of Finance announced today the increase of pensions from January 1 next year by 5.9 percent, based on the Swiss formula, the increase of the minimum labor price by 6.6 percent, as well as higher salaries in the public sector.
The minister said that from January 1, medical workers will receive a five percent salary increase, while other employees in the public sector will receive a 3.5 percent increase, and they will receive the remaining 1.5 percent increase from April 1.
It was also confirmed that the soldiers, in addition, will receive an additional increase of up to ten percent.
The Minister said that in the budget for next year, which is on the agenda of the Serbian Parliament from tomorrow, allocations for capital public investments of 2.75 billion euros are planned, because, as he says, it has been shown that when the state invests in highways, railways, industrial parks, bridges, and encourage private investment.
– So all these public investments encourage private investments as well. The new highways, on the one hand, stimulate the growth of the economy, employ people, and on the other hand, encourage private investors. That is why in the next year, we have over 2.75 billion euros set aside only for capital investments – said the Minister of Finance.
The list of these investments includes the construction of the Moravian Corridor, the Preljina-Pozega highway.
He points out that the total assistance of the state to the economy and citizens from the beginning of the crisis caused by the Covid 19 pandemic will amount to more than six billion euros.
– We set aside about 12.7 percent of our gross domestic product to help our economy, we managed to save it. We are looking at the budget for 2021 within that framework – the Minister of Finance explained.
He also said that the public debt did not exceed the limit of 60% of GDP in the budget for this or next year, Srbija Danas reports.
