The Trade Union of Workers of Electric Power Industry of Serbia – The finalization of the separation of ODS is in progress

The trade union of workers of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) denied today that the “dismemberment” of that company is underway, but that it is a matter of “finalizing” the separation of the distribution system operator (ODS), which began in 2015 and 2016.
“By entering the electricity market, we were obliged to separate ODS even earlier, because all this time EPS suffered the consequences of not having a license,” it was stated in the statement signed by the president of the union, Milan Djordjevic.
As he added, the decision of the Government of Serbia on the separation of the independent DSO, provides the conditions for obtaining a license for its work, and all that does not mean the dismemberment of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia, but bringing it into a state of more efficient business.
The president of the EPS Workers’ Union told the vice-presidents of the Party of Freedom and Justice, Marinika Tepic, that if there is anything against the acting president of EPS director Milorad Grcic, she should talk about him, not EPS.
Tepic said earlier that the “dismemberment” of EPS must be stopped, because the part of EPS that deals with the production of electricity has not yet been reformed and is ready for market competition, Danas reports.
