The value of investments in small and medium enterprises in Serbia in 2021 will be up to 77 million euros

The value of total investments of micro, small, medium enterprises and entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in Serbia this year, with the help of available support programs provided by the state, could reach 77 million euros, it was said at the online meeting “Open Day for entrepreneurs”, organized by the Entrepreneurship Sector of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

The expected number of requests for all support programs is 870, it was stated in the announcement.

This year, more than 16.9 million euros of non-refundable funds for the development of entrepreneurship have been allocated for the financial support of MSMEs through seven programs from the state budget.

In addition to financial support, special mentoring services, training, as well as international sources of credit are available to the MSME sector.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Milan Ljusic, said that the funds for MSMEs were provided to continue supporting the economy and that the relevant ministry was preparing additional funds for the endangered sectors.

“For 2021, it was adopted through decrees which provided more than 16.9 million euros of support to the economy. 12.7 million euros have been set aside for the purchase of equipment, and more than 1.6 million euros for development projects,” said Ljusic.

The head of the Office for Entrepreneurship of PKS, Slobodanka Dzinovic-Kojic, reminded that for the third year in a row, PKS is organizing an “Open Day for Entrepreneurs”, where entrepreneurs get acquainted in detail with entrepreneurship development programs in the current year, which contain grants new employment and development of entrepreneurship in Serbia.

Representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Development Fund, the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), the National Employment Service (NES), presented numerous financial programs, as well as training and mentoring services for MSMEs this year.

During the presentation of the program, all the conditions for obtaining funds and services were presented in detail, and entrepreneurs had the opportunity to ask questions and get information about current support programs.

MSME support programs in 2021 include encouraging the development of entrepreneurship for beginners in business, through development projects, for the purchase of equipment, for women entrepreneurs and young people.
Also, we offer a set of services for micro, small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs, which is implemented through Accredited Regional Development Agencies (ARRA), as well as support through guarantee schemes from EU and WB EDIF sources for competitiveness, N1 reports.
