In the last few months, the city of Valjevo has hosted a lot of foreign investors, who are most interested in the new industrial zone, known as the green zone. German company Colner from Canc in eastern Bavaria, which manufactures electrical equipment for cars, medical devices, the aviation industry and others, is seeking to build a ten-acre site on this location.
Initially, the factory would employ up to 300 workers, which would increase to 3,000 in the next few years. It is a company that operates worldwide and has decades of manufacturing experience. In addition to Colner, German company Automative from Nuremberg showed interest in building a factory as well. Their plan is to build a five-acre factory and employ 600 workers, mostly female workers, who would work to produce interiors for cars.
A visit to Valjevo these days was made by a company called Hanjin from South Korea that manufactures all kinds of cables for the automotive industry. In an interview with representatives of the City of Valjevo, they expressed a desire to build a factory on an area of ​​up to five hectares, which would employ up to a thousand workers.
– Several foreign investors announced their visit to Valjevo. We are about to complete the infrastructure of the new industrial zone as soon as possible in the upcoming year, so that interested investors can realize their plans. That is why we will provide the necessary money in the budget for 2020, and we are counting on the help of the state as well – said Mirko Kovacevic, Assistant of the Mayor of Valjevo.
During the visit, all potential investors were interested in whether there is a skilled workforce in Valjevo and its surroundings, what are the average salaries in the city and the Republic, as well as the possibilities of training the workforce for the needs of investors.
