Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic told on Thursday that it had been agreed with representatives of the Russian company Ural Vagon Zavod that they should come to Belgrade in mid-February, and give a concrete proposal for the Smederevo-based steel mill.

Dinkic said in a statement to reporters that had been agreed during his stay in Moscow earlier this month.

The media then reported that Ural Vagon Zavod had completed a technical-technological analysis for potential investments in the Smederevo-based steel mill, and Dinkic said that Ural Vagon Zavod is a very welcome partner.

Based on completed analyses, the company will propose one of two plans for putting the steel mill into operation. The first option is that the Russians should initiatite the project together with the Serbian government, and the other that they purchase all shares of that company.
