Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, who was in a delegation that took part in talks with representatives of Pristina and the United States in Washington, said that “the very fact that a bilateral agreement with the United States was signed is a great signal for investors.”
“It is important to say that a bilateral agreement has been signed with the United States… the agreement itself is important to me. The very fact that it happened, that it is about economic normalization, is a great signal for both investments and investors, that our destinations are becoming more attractive,” Mali told RTS.
As he said, the agreement is important for the economic progress of the entire region.
“There are a large number of points, I would like to single out a couple, the most important for the citizens of Serbia are those related to investments in road and railway infrastructure, the Nis-Pristina road, the railway to Pristina and Merdare, over two billion euros, which the US government opted for, that it will provide the financial means to complete those projects,” Mali said.
All that, he says, will be a big signal for the credit rating. “For investors who will want to build factories,” he added.
As he emphasizes, “mini Schengen” is especially important for businessmen.
“President Vucic worked very hard on that economic connection of the countries in the region,” he said, N1 reports.
