A feasibility study for realization of construction of a gondola lift in Belgrade will be completed in the next three months, Mayor Sinisa Mali said on Friday.

This construction “could start in 2016,” he also said.

“We want Belgrade to offer a new attraction in order for tourists to be able to enjoy the view from above,” Mali said after signing a protocol of cooperation in the preparation of the project realization with Acting Director of Public Enterprise Ski Resorts of Serbia Dejan Ljevnaic at the City Assembly.

In addition to the development of tourism, the gondola lift from New Belgrade across Ada Ciganlija and Makis to Kosutnjak would improve public transport and cut the time needed to reach Kosutnjak from New Belgrade, Mali pointed out.

He also said this is a project from 2013, “which we want to renew and see whether it makes sense to run it.”
