Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister And Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic stated on Friday that Russian investments in Serbia can realistically be expected to increase, as well as Serbia’s exports to Russia.

Serbia attaches exceptional importance to the overall cooperation with the Russian Federation and it is interested in increased presence of Russian companies and capital on its market, Dacic said addressing the session of the Working group in charge of improving the trade-economic cooperation and improvement of Serbia-Russia trade mechanisms.

He noted that Russia is Serbia’s strategic partner and that very good political relations made it possible for Russia to be one of its most important economic partners.

He recalled that the total exchange of Russia-Serbia trade in 2014 reached EUR 2.5 billion and that the value of the trade in the first seven months of 2015 added up to EUR 1.3 billion, despite the current global developments which negatively impacted international trade.

Our goal was for the trade with Russia to be even higher, Dacic said and added that preparations of the Working group for the session of the 14th Serbia-Russia Committee in Belgrade from October 21 to 23 should also contribute to this end.

After this, the visit of Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, ministers and a number of businessmen to Moscow should be realised.
