The state earmarked three times more funds for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) this year, seen as the year of entrepreneurship, than last year, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday.

“The year of entrepreneurship is not a futile political statement, as we allocated much more money for the purpose than in 2015. Last year, the sum was RSD 550 million, and this year – RSD 1.5 billion,” Vucic said at a first session of the dialogue as part of the German-Serbian initiative for sustainable growth and employment.

We will continue offering favorable loans to SMEs, domestic entrepreneurs, he said, noting this would be favorable loans from partner banks, describing it as important for investments and working capital.
