Increasing the GDP growth rate to three percent and beyond is one of the most significant goals of the Serbian government, Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic said Friday at the ceremonial opening of a wastewater treatment plant at the Apatin Brewery.

“Economic growth is one of the most significant goals of the Serbian government’s policy, and to achieve that growth, we need major, strong investors and, of course, development of SMEs that can form a good network of subcontractors and suppliers with those major investors,” Knezevic said.

Only after that can we expect a GDP growth rate of three percent or more to become possible, he said.

“Of course, intensive employment for our citizens is what is very important to us,” Knezevic noted.

The Apatin Brewery is also marking its 260th anniversary.
