Austrian insurance group UNIQA said its pre-tax profit from operations in Serbia decreased to 1.9 million euro ($2.1 million) in 2018 from 2.1 million euro in the previous year.
Total gross written premiums from operations in Serbia grew by 11% to 49.4 million euro, UNIQA said in its 2018 financial report published on Wednesday.
UNIQA’s gross written premiums in the non-life insurance segment in Serbia came in at 27.9 million euro, up 9.9%. Gross written premiums from life insurance went up 13.4% to 16.5 million euro, while premiums in the health insurance segment rose by 9.5% to 5.0 million euro.
In Southeast Europe (SEE), UNIQA operates in Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Croatia. Its premiums written in the region – excluding Romania – rose by 8.3% to 307 million euro in 2018.
