Cooperation between the economy of Serbia and the state leads to more green investments

The Ministry of Environmental Protection, in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, will maximally involve the business community in creating the regulatory framework, project implementation and the European integration process, in order to reduce costs for companies, our members, simplify administrative procedures and provide a stimulating environment for transition on the green economy, new investments in modern technologies, innovations, products and jobs, said Marko Cadez, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, after today’s meeting with the new Minister Irena Vujovic.
The operational team of the Chamber and the Ministries, the establishment of which was agreed today, announced Cadez, and with full respect for the initiatives of businessmen, will prepare an agenda of priority solutions for more competitive business operations and strengthening the partnership between the economy and the state.
“In this way, we will work together to make the transition to a circular economy as successful as possible, while preserving the environment in which we live and creating sustainable businesses, new values and new jobs for our companies and people,” said Cadez.
Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and the relevant ministry agreed that in the coming period it is necessary to speed up the adoption of new laws and complete the regulatory framework in accordance with international standards, consistent and full implementation of existing solutions, as well as improving infrastructure for hazardous and industrial waste of energy purposes and construction of industrial wastewater treatment plants.
In addition to strategically important projects, the meeting also exchanged information on issues of environmental fees and charges and access to funds for financing green projects, for which the business community is particularly interested.
In the realization of the priorities of the Government and the line ministry, the creation of a predictable framework for company operations and the application of best practices in low-carbon and resource-sustainable production, an open dialogue between the administration and the business sector and the support of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in implementation of regulations and creation of a good business environment, it was concluded at today’s meeting.
The activity of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in regional economic integrations and the implementation of the Mini Schengen initiative, including cooperation in the field of green economy, was especially emphasized, Vesti Online reports.
