The new Minister of Economy, Andjelka Atanaskovic, stated that the interest of foreign investors in Serbia has not decreased despite the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, and that she expects foreign direct investments to be higher than two billion euros this year.
“All this shows that we have implemented reforms in the right way and strengthened our economy, as well as that a significant change in the investment framework has had effects,” Atanaskovic told the panel “Economic growth – domestic and foreign investment”, within the “RE-set summit” organized by Adria Media Group and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
The Minister emphasized that investors believe that Serbia today is a good place for business development, with a good economic environment and political stability.
“We will continue with the active policy of attracting domestic and foreign investors who have the same rights and obligations, and the focus will be on bringing in as many high-tech companies as possible,” Atanaskovic announced.
She mentioned that attention should be paid to two important global trends, the first of which is that “everything related to the digitalization of various spheres of life will grow in the world, and the digital component takes precedence in the value structure of all products,” the minister said.
The second is the trend of sustainability – energy efficiency, resource reuse, circular economy, climate change, and the Minister believes that the companies that deal with it will grow, BizLife reports.
