Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic said that the Serbian delegation in Paris, which also includes Finance Minister Sinisa Mali and Transport Minister Tomislav Momirovic, talked with representatives of the Association of French Industrialists (MEDEF) about new investment opportunities in Belgrade.
– On the first day of the visit, the Serbian delegation was officially admitted to MEDEF, the Association of French Industrialists, which brings together the largest companies in that country, and we discussed new investment opportunities in Belgrade – said Vesic.
He says that he informed his interlocutors about the investments that French companies are making in Belgrade, such as Suez, Vance, Alstom.
He said that they discussed the possibilities for new investments in infrastructure, expansion of the BG train, participation in the second phase of the wastewater treatment plant in Veliko Selo, possibilities of investing in the tram system, which will be expanded by 27 new kilometers of tram network.
– I am very happy because the meeting showed that French companies are interested in investing in Belgrade, which has become a destination in which large European companies want to invest – said Vesic.
He added that the companies, whose representatives attended the meeting, employ tens of thousands of people and are among the most powerful European companies.
– This shows that the policy pursued by Serbia, President Aleksandar Vucic, is correct, and that Serbia has become attractive for investment and that there is no large European company that does not want to work in Serbia. The meeting showed how successful Serbia is – said Vesic, Kurir reports.
