Initial investments of 101 million dollars, a mine that will be exploited as a surface mine for ten years, are only part of the announced preliminary study of opening a gold mine, which the Canadian company “Medgold” intends to open on the border of Serbia, Bulgaria and Macedonia.
What is known so far is that the Canadians found reserves of 570 thousand ounces of gold and 8.8 million ounces of silver at that place. The gross value of the deposit is estimated at around one billion dollars, but we should not forget the fact that “Medgold” still intends to continue with the research, since they have the right to investigate in that area of almost 200 square kilometers, Novosti reports.
