Work on capital projects in Serbia continues with the established dynamics

Despite the problems that arose as a result of the corona virus pandemic, work on capital projects in Serbia continues according to the established dynamics, it was stated on Tuesday, February 9, at the session of the Council for Coordination of Activities and Measures for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Growth.
At the session chaired by the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, the dynamics of the realization of the most important infrastructure projects in various branches of the economy were discussed.
– There are, among other things, marked projects whose start of construction is planned for the current year, such as the highway Novi Sad-Ruma (Frushkogorski corridor), sections of the high-speed railway from Novi Sad to Kelebija, sections of the road Nis-Merdare, New Belgrade-Surcin, gas interconnections Serbia-Bulgaria, as well as projects whose completion is planned for this year – it is stated in the announcement of the Government of Serbia.
In addition to the traffic infrastructure, the emphasis was on the realization of projects in the field of environmental protection, especially the construction of a wastewater treatment plant and the construction of a sewerage network, it is added.
– As a special chance for Serbia, agriculture was emphasized at the meeting, and in that context the Minister pointed out the production of pet food from four factories in Serbia, where a significant increase in exports was recorded, as well as the need to open new markets for pork exports – it is stated in the statement.
It is added that the session emphasized the need for the development of green energy and accompanying infrastructure, as conditions that will need to be met in the near future in order to attract foreign direct investment and preserve the environment, eKapija reports.
