Good neighborly relations and modernization of the railway between Serbia and North Macedonia

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, talked with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, about strengthening good neighborly relations between the two countries, through, among other things, resolving all issues through dialogue, improving economic cooperation and mutual support on the European path.
As it was announced from the office of the President of Serbia, Vucic mentioned specific projects that would contribute to better connection and economic cooperation between the two countries, such as the modernization of the railway to Skopje and the strengthening of the infrastructure at the border crossings.
He said that good relations between Serbia and North Macedonia are of the utmost importance for the entire region and pointed out “mini Schengen” as an example of successful cooperation, for the benefit of citizens and for the benefit of economic development of countries actively involved in the initiative.
Vucic singled out the importance of the Memorandum, signed by Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, which enables mutual assistance and cooperation of their health systems for the treatment of people suffering from Covid-19.
Osmani thanked for the donation of vaccines, which Vucic handed over to Prime Minister Zoran Zaev on Sunday, and which enabled the vaccination of North Macedonian citizens to begin and, as he said, awakened new hope.
Vucic also said that Serbia supports the European integration of North Macedonia, and the meeting also discussed the improvement of the position of Serbs in North Macedonia, ie Macedonians in Serbia, it was stated in the statement, N1 reports.
