The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia, Tatjana Matic, and the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and Social Economy of Morocco, Nadia Fetah, talked today about the improvement of economic cooperation between the two countries, the ministry announced.
The two ministers who are co-chairs of the third Joint Commission for Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the two countries agreed at an online meeting that, if the epidemiological situation allows, the third session of that commission will be organized in Belgrade in June.
The meeting would discuss the realization of common goals and new fields of cooperation, especially in terms of investment opportunities in both countries, the formation of a working group for tourism, the development of joint services and the establishment of green corridors.
Matic suggested that an agreement in the field of tourism should be signed on that occasion, which would regulate the conditions for the entry of Serbian tourists into Morocco and Moroccan tourists into Serbia.
She also initiated the establishment of cooperation between craft companies of the two countries, which have a long tradition in both Serbia and Morocco, and proposed organizing an exhibition of Moroccan craft works in Belgrade, involving national tourist organizations and signing a memorandum of cooperation in that area.
Minister Fetah welcomed the initiative for concluding an agreement on cooperation in tourism, which would be a significant step, and assessed that there is room for cooperation in the field of agriculture, and emphasized the importance of introducing direct flights.
Moroccan Ambassador to Belgrade Mohamed Amine Belhaj proposed that a Memorandum of Understanding on economic cooperation in third markets should be signed during the next session of the Joint Commission, emphasizing the possibility of Morocco being Serbia’s main trade and economic partner for the African market, Danas reports.
