The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised its global economic growth estimate for 2021 to 6 percent, compared to the January forecast of 5.5 percent, said Gita Gopinat, the IMF’s chief economist.
Presenting the new, April issue of the IMF’s “Global Economic Outlook 2021”, Gopinat said in an online address that the increase in the forecast for global gross domestic product (GDP) growth was based on unprecedented fiscal support from governments to domestic economies in response to the corona pandemic, Srbija Danas reports.
