Serbia is interested in a free trade agreement with Iran

Today, on the first day of his visit to Iran, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selekovic, talked with the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade and the President of the Iranian Organization for Trade Promotion, Hamid Zadbum, about the possibilities of improving economic relations between the two countries.
The interlocutors assessed that the cooperation can be improved in numerous areas, such as the pharmaceutical, food and automobile industry, agriculture, IT sector, furniture industry, textile and machine industry and other areas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia announced.
Selakovic also said that Serbia was interested in the offer of Iranian partners to discuss a free trade agreement between the two countries.
He stated that Iran is a traditional partner and friend of Serbia and that it is in the mutual interest that good political relations be used to improve economic cooperation, Beta reports.
Selakovic will also hold talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran today, and a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rohani, Parliament Speaker Mohamed Bager Gallibaf and Agriculture Minister Kazem Hawazi is planned for tomorrow, Politika reports.
