The Minister of Finance, Sinisa Mali, stated today that an agreement was made with the American Corporation for International Development Financing on the first 400 million dollars within the Guarantee Scheme that the corporation will implement in Serbia with commercial banks.

Mali specified that the funds are intended for micro, small and medium enterprises.

“It is money that will be directed, not only to the liquidity of those companies, but also to investments and encouragement of entrepreneurship. That is great news for our entire economy, for our citizens,” Mali told reporters in the Serbian Parliament.

He assessed that it was a sign of the American administration’s trust in the development of the Serbian economy.

Mali expects the agreement to be concretized by the contract, followed by negotiations with the banks, after which the money will be available to the economy, Dnevnik reports.
