Serbia will present itself as an innovative and creative country at the World Exhibition in Dubai

The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Matic, stated today that the World Exhibition EXPO 2020 in Dubai is a huge opportunity for Serbia to present itself to potential partners from all over the world.

She visited the pavilion of Serbia, an exhibition that will last for six months, from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, and talked with the General Director of the exhibition, Rome Al Hashimi, and the Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

She said that Serbia will present itself in the pavilion of about 2,000 square meters at the World Exhibition as an innovative and creative country that encourages lasting and sustainable progress.

“At the same time, we are proud of the fact that Serbia provides significant support to the development of innovative economy and knowledge economy of the UAE, as well as many other countries, through the presence of a large number of highly qualified experts, primarily in information technology, medicine, engineering, creative industries and higher education as an important link that connects our two countries,” Matic pointed out.

She added that the World Exhibition is a unique opportunity for all countries, including Serbia, to present to the world their technological and industrial innovations and achievements, economic and business opportunities, as well as tourist potentials.

“The main goal of Serbia’s appearance at the first global event after the outbreak of the pandemic is aimed at creating and developing a business network for our business community, encouraging the development of trade and tourism, attracting foreign investments and creating a positive image of a modern and innovative state,” Matic said.

Rome Al Hashimi pointed out that the UAE had an impressive response to the Covid-19 pandemic, including rapid testing technology and one of the fastest vaccination procedures in the world.

As she added, following the guidelines of the world’s leading medical, scientific and health experts, Dubai started welcoming tourists in July 2020 and remains open for business.

“Using the latest interactive technologies and exploring the themes of digital connectivity and virtual and augmented reality, the Serbian Pavilion will connect millions of EXPO visitors with its impressive cultural, scientific and economic achievements, inspiring exciting new perspectives to help create a better future for all of us,” said Rome Al Hashimi.

EXPO 2020 – Dubai, whose theme is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, is the first World Exhibition to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region.
At that exhibition, the offer will be presented by more than 190 countries, as well as multilateral organizations, companies and educational institutions, eKapija reports.
