During her visit to Pancevo Oil Refinery (new substation, control room, plant for processing sulfuric acid, MHC, TNG plant), Mihajlovic said that Serbia waited for a long time to start producing derivatives of Euro 5 quality.

She expressed hope that the modernisation of the refinery will be continued and pointed to the importance of these investments for the reduction of emission of hazardous gases in Pancevo.

Managing Director of the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) Kirill Kravchenko said that NIS stands good chances to finish the modernisation of the Pancevo refinery on time, and confirmed that studies for the next phase of investments in its facilities are already being prepared.

Kravchenko underlined that the latest world technologies in terms of security and the environment have been applied during the modernisation, and pointed out that after the plant is put into operation the emission of hazardous gases in Pancevo will be lower by 10 % compared the limit allowed by law.

As part of the modernisation of the Pancevo Oil Refinery which started in 2009, 28 facilities of factory infrastructure have been made, cutting-edge substations, a control room, as well as a mechanism for regeneration of hydrogen and sulfuric acid, in which around €90 million was invested.
