At a reception at the Embassy of Italy, on the occasion of the beginning of sale of “Fiat 500L”, Dacic said that the government will do everything that there are more such ventures, projects and investments in the future, because they are the drivers of the overall development.

This investment will contribute to the development of the whole of Serbia, Kragujevac and other places from where subcontractors come. The development of infrastructure and energy capacities necessary for such technological process will also be useful, said Dacic.

The Prime Minister wished the company Fiat Automobili Srbija international fame, success and good sale, and also wished the automotive industry in Serbia better days.

Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic said that Fiat plans to produce 30,000 vehicles by year’s end, and said that its official sale starts on 22 September.

He said that the company Fiat Automobili Srbija next year plans to produce between 140,000 and 160,000 cars and that Serbia could get €2 billion from Fiat’s export next year.

Dinkic said that no other factory in Serbia can individually generate such revenue.

There is a solid demand for this car, said the Minister, adding that the international market already pre-booked nearly 8,000 of these cars, mostly the German market.

This investment finally started producing results, he said noting that 80% of all the parts for that model, except for the engine, are produced in Serbia.

Managing Director of the company Fiat Automobili Srbija Antonio Cesare Ferrara said that the launch of the new model is an important moment for the realisation of Fiat’s investment in Serbia, which will have a positive effect on the Serbian economy, especially the car industry.
