Government sets up Coordination Body for EU Accession Process

The Serbian government adopted at its session yesterday the Bill on ratification of the Agreement on guarantee (Zeleznice Srbije railway company: rehabilitation of railways) between Serbia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), entailing a loan worth €95 million needed for rehabilitation and modernisation of the railway network on Corridor 10.

The government also adopted the Bill on amendments to the Law on medicines and medical devices, which aims at creating more favourable conditions and reducing manufacturers costs and decreasing tariffs at the market of drugs and medical supplies in Serbia.

The government also passed a regulation which extends the deadline for the payment of subsidised mineral fertilisers in fruit production, and this decision is one of the measures to mitigate the effects of the drought which has significantly reduced the production of fruit.

The Decree stipulates that the fertilisers bought by private persons should be paid to the Directorate for Commodity Reserves by 1 October next year.

The government decided to establish the Coordination Body for EU Accession Process.

The Coordination Body, to be headed by Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic, will also comprise deputy prime ministers and government members and will instruct public administration bodies in the process of European integration.

The Serbian government appointed Zoran Radovanovic as acting director of the Clinical Centre of Nis, and Nebojsa Arsenijevic as acting director of the Clinical Centre of Kragujevac.

Also, Zoran Tubic has been appointed as Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development.
