Addressing a conference “Energy paths in the region and use of renewable sources”, Mihajlovic voiced her expectation that all necessary by-laws regarding this law will be adopted within 30 days. As for priorities in the legislative framework, we plan to adopt by-laws regarding the Law on energy, as well as a strategy of Serbia’s energy development by 2030, the Minister said. She said that her Ministry’s priorities also include improvement of energy efficiency, construction of new infrastructure facilities in electrical energy and gas and oil industries, as well as changes in the management principles in public enterprises. The Minister observed that the prices of electricity and gas in Serbia are low, but noted that increase in prices cannot be discussed until the so-called social cards are introduced, most likely in the first quarter of 2013.
