Goran Vesić, the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, has announced plans for a new railway line connecting Belgrade’s “Nikola Tesla” Airport.

This development will be part of the Expo project, which includes constructing a railway between Zemun Field and the National Stadium. The new line will link the Zemun area, the future fair complex, the airport, and Surčin, with trains expected to travel at speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour.

According to Vesić, this project is crucial for meeting new regulations that require major airports with annual passenger numbers exceeding 12 million to have long-distance rail connections.

In the near future, travelers will be able to travel from Novi Sad to Belgrade Airport. Additionally, once the high-speed rail line between Belgrade and Niš is completed, the journey from Niš to “Nikola Tesla” Airport will also be possible by rail.
