Governor of the People’s Bank of China (PBC) Zhou Xiaochuan is on a two-day visit to Serbia and its central bank, the NBS has said.
The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) added on Tuesday that Chinese and the Serbian governors met in Belgrade and “exchanged experiences about external and internal challenges faced by central banks in pursuing their primary objectives and delivering financial stability.”
“After getting acquainted with the specific features of the monetary systems applied by the two countries, the governors talked about the avenues of expanding cooperation between the PBC and the NBS,” the statement said.
According to the Serbian central bank, the PBC governor presented to his Serbian counterpart and members of the NBS Executive Board his view on current developments in the international financial market and the possibilities to mitigate the negative effects of the global financial crisis on individual economies and to maintain their macroeconomic stability.
