A large number of companies owned by Canadians operate in Serbia and it would be good to attract even more investments

The Minister of Economy in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Andjelka Atanaskovic, and the Ambassador of Canada to Serbia, Giles Norman, reached an agreement that the two countries will work dedicatedly on the arrival of Canadian investors in Serbia in the coming period.

Atanaskovic stated that Canada is on the 34th place among the countries with the largest net investments of non-residents in Serbia, while more than 293 economic entities whose owners are Canadian citizens are actively operating in our country.

The Minister reiterated that attracting foreign investors is at the top of Serbia’s priorities, assessing that cooperation with Canada has made a lot of progress in recent years, especially in terms of economy and investment.

She pointed out that the potentials for economic cooperation of mutual interest are far greater than the existing ones, which is why she invited Canadian investors to invest in Serbia.

Norman confirmed that there is room for improving the economic relations between the two countries, noting that a large number of companies owned by Canadians operate in Serbia and that it would be good to attract even more investments, eKapija reports.
