Accelerating implementation of infrastructure projects financed by EBRD

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic and Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Serbia Matteo Patrone said yesterday that there are opportunities to expand their cooperation to new projects.

At the meeting, it was pointed out that the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and the EBRD are cooperating closely in order to accelerate the implementation of projects financed by this institution in Serbia.

They also discussed the current status of the projects financed by the EBRD, including the project “Belgrade motorway and bypass”, the construction of two new sections within the branch of Corridor 10, from Nis to Dimitrovgrad, as well as loans for modernisation of railways.

Mihajlovic said that the Ministry will insist on faster implementation of commenced works, meeting the deadlines and increasing the efficiency of state-owned enterprises, for which a special team of the Ministry has been formed.

In addition to the effective implementation of existing projects, the officials also discussed the possible expansion of cooperation to new projects on Corridor 7, as well as possible concessions for Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
