APR joins platform for common database of companies in EU

The Ministry of Economy and Regional Development announced that the Business Registers Agency (APR) on Tuesday in Dusseldorf signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Justice of the Land North Rhine-Westphalia.

Serbia has thus joined the pilot project to develop a platform for the electronic exchange of data on registered companies.

The aim of this project is to establish a common database of companies, their subsidiaries and financial statements for Serbia, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland and Macedonia.

This pilot project will serve as a blueprint for the establishment of a unified registration system and database of companies in the whole EU by 2014 at the latest.

The project represents a joint platform of the European Commission and the Federal Republic of Germany, on whose behalf the project is managed by the Ministry of Justice of the Land North Rhine-Westphalia.

On behalf of APR, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by APR Director Zvonko Obradovic, the statement added.
