Austria to make new investment in Serbia soon

Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric during his two-day visit to Vienna agreed with his collocutors about ways to improve their bilateral relations and discussed the arrival of another Austrian company to the Serbian market.
Together with Austrian Minister of Economy, Family and Youth Reinhold Mitterlehner, Ciric talked about the expansion of economic cooperation through a promotion of the Serbian economy and further support to export-oriented Serbian companies.

Mitterlehner affirmed Austria’s continued support to Serbia on its EU path.

During his visit to Vienna, Ciric also met with representatives of the City of Vienna to discuss cooperation in local infrastructure and utility-related activities, an area in which Vienna has extensive experience.

The Minister noted that the adoption of the law on public-private partnership in October will contribute to good cooperation between Serbia and Austria because it will improve investment climate and cooperation with Austrian companies.

He confirmed that in addition to talks with representatives of companies that are already present in Serbia, the talks were held with a world-renowned Austrian company whose arrival in Serbia is expected soon.

We will present the plan of this investment soon, he said adding that the positive results of his visit to Vienna can be expected in the near future. He also udnerlined that Austria has been the biggest investor in the Serbian economy in the last five years, with the total investment of companies worth around $3 billion.
