Consumer prices in Serbia increased by 1.8% in March

Consumer prices in March 2021 compared to the same month last year increased by 1.8%, while compared to December 2020 they increased by an average of 1.6%.
According to the latest data from the Republic Bureau of Statistics, the prices of personal consumption goods and services in March 2021, compared to February 2021, increased by 0.5% on average. Compared to March 2020, their growth was 1.8%.
Observed by the main groups of products and services classified according to the purpose of consumption, in March 2021, compared to the previous month, price growth was recorded in the groups Transport (2.2%), Food and non-alcoholic beverages and Furniture, current maintenance (by 0.6% each), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.3%), Health (0.2%) and in the groups Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and Clothing and footwear (by 0.1% each).
The fall in prices was recorded in the groups Recreation and culture (-1.0%) and Communications (-0.2%). Prices of other products and services did not change significantly, BiF reports.
