American businessman George Soros, who recently purchased the Danube Foods Group, which owns Serbian companies Imlek, Bambi, Knjaz Milos, and Mlekara Subotica, is also interested in privatization of the Serbian pharmaceutical company Galenika, the Belgrade-based Danas Daily reports. Through his fund Quantum Strategic Partners Ltd, Soros sent a letter expressing his interest back in October when the Belgrade Privatization Agency announced that 502 state-owned companies will be privatized. As the Danas reports, 15 potential buyers applied to purchase Galenika.
