New decisions on the maximum number of public sector employees will be made by the end of this year as a starting basis for 2017.
Serbian Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic said this on Monday.
“That is our obligation towards ourselves, as well as according to the agreement we have with the International Monetary Fund,” Vujovic told a conference on amendments to the law on funding local self-government authorities.

The overall public sector salary bill will also be determined based on the number of employees, Vujovic said.
A special law on salaries at local level will be passed by the end of 2016 and a working group has already been set up to prepare it, Vujovic said.
