Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic has appointed Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic as head of the negotiating team in the process of integration of Serbia into the EU and has tasked him with implementing the Action plan for attaining the country’s candidate status.
In addition to current responsibilities related to European integration, the Deputy Prime Minister has been given powers to direct and coordinate investments in science and technology infrastructure, as well as to negotiate for membership of Serbia into the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN).
Djelic has been authorised to direct and coordinate the work of the Ministry of Finance in the field of regulation of public property rights, rights of ownership of the Republic of Serbia, public procurement, banking, securities and capital market.
The Deputy Prime Minister is now also authorised to coordinate the system of financial relations, and cooperation of Serbia with the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Development Bank of the Council of Europe.
