“Our job is to help Serbia to prepare and take its chance once the recovery begins,” the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) president said.

He told daily Blic that the EBRD was interested in a large number of sectors in Serbia, primarily in infrastructure, energy and local projects.

“We have been involved in projects in Serbia for a long time and a total value of the loans is EUR 3bn. We have had a good partnership so far and I expect it to continue in the following years because we are planning on investing around EUR 400mn this year and just as much in 2013,” Chakrabarti pointed out.

He explained that the realization of loans primarily depended on proposals of new projects.
