EPS and Germany’s RWE Innogy to form Moravske Hidroelektrane joint venture

The Electric Power Company of Serbia, the Serbian power monopoly known as EPS, and Germany`s RWE Innogy GmbH on Tuesday signed an agreement worth about 352 million euros to set up Moravske Hidroelektrane joint venture that will build five hydroelectric power plants on the Velika Morava river. 

The agreement was signed by EPS Director General Dragomir Markovic and RWE Innogy CEO Fritz Vahrenholt and Director for Hydro and New Projects Olaf Hail.

The joint venture will operate as an independent electricity producer that should build minimum five hydroelectric power plants on the Velika Morava river, with a total capacity of 150 megawatts, over the next few years.
