Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated that Serbia, with the new price increase that came into force yesterday, still has “the cheapest electricity in the whole of Europe and in this region”.
“The price of electricity in Montenegro is 42.3 percent higher than the price of electricity in Serbia, in Albania, which has 44 percent lower wages than in Serbia, electricity is 33 percent more expensive than in Serbia, in Northern Macedonia electricity is 13 percent more expensive than in Serbia,” stated Brnabic for TV Prva.
She said that shows that the price of electricity is still held as a social category.
“We are doing this consciously with the intention that it grows as our standard of living grows and that it is not a category that will burden our citizens at any time, nor the economy,” Brnabic pointed out.
Let us remind that electricity is 3.4 percent more expensive than yesterday, but the bill was increased already in January, since the fee for stimulating the production of renewable energy was increased more than four times, 021 reports.
