Every fifth complaint to the National Bank of Serbia is founded

In the period from January 1 to June 30, 2021, 1,393 user complaints were resolved, of which 62.3 percent referred to the actions of banks, 37.3 percent to the actions of insurance companies, and 0.2 percent to the actions of financial leasing providers and 0.1 percent on the actions of payment institutions and companies for managing voluntary pension funds, according to the report of the National Bank of Serbia.
Of those 1,393, 1,091 complaints were declared unfounded, and 302 were founded. The largest number of complaints about the actions of banks in the observed period referred to loans (58.8 percent), payment accounts and payment services (24 percent) and payment cards (13.2 percent).
Out of 868 complaints at seven banks, the NBS assessed that 685 were unfounded and 183 well-founded. Most, 42 related to cash loans and 21 to housing loans. Payment cards related to 35 complaints and 59 rightly complained about payment accounts and payment services.
519 complaints were filed against the work of insurance companies, of which 119 were founded, Danas reports.
